what type of plants should I put in my front garden (Australia)?
I need plants that dont have roots that travel looking for water or that would crack my brickwork foundations. I have japanese Box plants both sides of the side driveway, but need something to go right across the front of the house. I am not real good with thinking these things up myself :(

- visit a lawn center and speak with an expert to find the perfect plants for your home
- You never mentioned what part of Australia you are in, however as a lavender farmer I recomend lavender of course and which variety will suit will depend on your location, talk to your local nursery. A very good hardy garden variety is Lavandula Dentata Candicans, it's what is commonly known and unfortunately sold as French Lavender, there is however 8 + varieties of French Lavender and they are all different, find a nursery that sells Candicans. Otherwise try Rosemary
- Hi: There are many different types of evergreen shrubs that would give you color year around in Australia. Your zones in your country are similar to zones seven, eight and nine in the United States. Here are some suggestions for you: Chinese Pizazz or Loropetalum Cypress - such as a Mop or Lemmon Thread Aborvitaes - Globe, dwarf or regular Hinoki Sea Green Juniper or Blue Owl Juniper These are just a few shrubs that would add beauty to your front garden. Consider doing some perennial flowers throughout the shrubs or even some herbs. There are many flowering herbs and they would give you not only great color and aroma, but also wonderful culinary use. Always remember to properly prep your garden before planting any plant specimens. I will link you to the plan - prep -plant page of my website. These steps may help you out. I will also link you to the gallery of plants section. Browse through and see if there are any plant specimens that would work for you. There are descriptions and zones also. I will also link you to the site map as this page has everything that is on the website. There may be some other useful information for you when doing your front garden. Good luck to you and if you need any futher suggestions, please feel free to contact me at the website. Good luck to you and have a great day!
