Should you need planning permission to plant a tree in your garden?

Some of them get so big they can block light from neighbors property. Also the roots could damage foundations. You are not allowed to plant what you want in your allotment and you can be prosecuted for planting flowers on waste ground

  1. All I know is that in the USA you can plant what you want it is called freedom where do you live
  2. Select a suitable plant, if your town rules insist, seek permission, but please do not give up the idea of planting trees, today we need more, much more of trees to be planted to combat biodiversity and Environmental degradation.
  3. It depends where you live. If you live in a subdivision there are rules that the association has made and when you buy within the subdivision the rules are to be followed. Some cities have laws on the type of trees or plants that can be planted. In many states purple leaf strife is not allowed. In the country you can plant just about what ever you want as long as it is legal.
