the martins are planting a flower garden. they plan to have twice the number of petinias as violets and 4 times as many violets as daisies. what information can be used to determined the total number of flowers the martins will plant. H. the number of petunias they will buy. J. the size of the garden

- If you know either the number of petunias or the number of flowers per area unit of a garden with given area, you can figure out the number of flowers bought.
- Knowing the size of the garden does you no good at all. Knowing the number of petunias will get you the number of other flowers.
- You know the Martin's will have at least 13 flowers. (1 Daisy, 4 Violets, 8 Petunias). Other possibilities - 26, 39, 52... The garden would have to be large enough to accommodate for at least 13 flowers!
