What kind of flower is this?
I saw this in an old issue of Better Homes & Gardens while waiting for the doctor. The best way that I can describe it, is that it looked like a brown stick that branched out and grew very small, yellow flowers. I thought it was beautiful, and I want to have it painted in my room, but I need to find a picture of it in order to do so. If it helps at all, a common theme in this room was Asian decor and Asian flowers. Please help! Thanks so much.

- Sounds like a forsythia or maybe even a witch-hazel. Both have yellow flowers and both bloom before the leaves appear.
- Sounds a bit like an orchid or a Forsythia. Here's a picture of a yellow orchid: http://www.hawaiifloralproducts.com/PopcornOrchidGiftPack.jpg And here's one of a Forsythia: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/00/Forsythia_close-up.jpg/800px-Forsythia_close-up.jpg
