Free Garden Catalogs

should i pay the "free" catalog fee? conned!?

I was casually flicking through the Next catalog at the front of the shop when a customer service woman wanderd over to me asking if i'd like to sign up to have the Next catalogs deliverd to my house. i said no thanks -mainly coz my friend has got one and i can just see hers. she continued to chat to me and tried to persuade me to sign up but i insisted on "no thanks". she said it was all free, and id be entered into a free prize draw etc and id only be charged the £3.50 catalogs fee if i orderd anything. eventually after feeling quite sorry for the womans persistance i agreed, and verbally handed over my name+address on the grounds that it was free. ... so ive had the catalog a few months and havent orderd anything. yesterday , i got a bill/invoice asking for the £3.50, due by april 17th! i know its only £3.50, but i feel conned! if i ring up and moan , what rights willl i have? i never got the chance to see any small print!

  1. Pay it to protect your credit, but call their customer service department and tell them to take you off their mailing list.
