How do you dry pepper seeds to use in your own garden?
can I use pepper seeds that I got from a pepper from the grocery store to use in my own garden?. And is there any way of doing it?

- just spread the seeds on some old newspaper and let them sit out to dry That's how we always did it at home on the farm
- If it is a hybrid pepper, it won't breed true, that is you may not end up with exactly the kind of pepper you planted or in some cases the seed are sterile. Also, peppers are very slow to germinate. I don't know where you live but when I lived in North Dakota, in order to have nice sized pepper plants to put into my garden by end of May, I had to plant the peppers by the end of February. Other than that, I used to do it exactly as the other responder suggested, place them spread out on an old newspaper and let them dry. Good luck. It is fun to make your own plants and experiment with them. I mostly do flowers now but those too are fun to scrounge seeds for and see what you get.
