Anyone know of pretty flowers or other plants that are easy to grow (indoors) from seeds?

I think for Valentine's Day I want to paint a little gardening pot for my boyfriend and fill it with dry soil and some pre-planted seeds. I want it to be already constructed for him, he just has to give it water and sunshine. But I'm not sure what kind of seeds to use. I want something fast growing, fairly resilient, and uh, pretty. no chia pet. thanks for the help info advice support etc etc

1. Try sunflower seeds
2. I would think maybe marigolds,zinnias or about any annual would grow easy for him as long as it gets the right amount of light. hope this helps.
