How do you find/get free seeds?

No canabis, I mean garden seeds.

Name it, then go on seed sites and look in the contact us section for charities. And after you get all those seeds, why not plant a row for the hungry, or better yet, gang up on an old vacant lot and actually MAKE s community garden. And give some of your produce to your local food bank.
2. This is for members if you care to join in the exchange program. Most of the groups for free seed are done this way. Also search your community ie;garden clubs This group is dedicated to those among us who are wanting to exchange seeds, cuttings, plants, tips or information with one another! Know that the group is not limited to exchaning seeds, plants and cuttings, but it's also a wonderfully friendly place to just talk about your garden! The group serves the greater Colorado Springs area, but anyone is welcome to join! It makes no difference if you are a Master Gardener or just starting out. 3. You can join a gardening website. Many offer seed trading and seeds for SASBE (self-addressed-stamped-bubble-envelopes) in their forums. 6. From other gardening people. I have many seeds, and collect them after my flowers die. I do this with my favorite flowers, and could probably plant a whole flower garden now. I love flowers, and have seen in yahoo groups, places where people exchange their seeds. I have a great aunt that loves her irises, and shares the rhizomes, etc. The yahoo group, you can ask for certain seeds, and some will just send them to you, if you don't mind sharing your address. When cooking, say, with squash, save, wash the seeds, put on a paper towel to dry, and walaa! You have seeds for your garden in spring, just keep in an envelope, and safe. Not a plastic bag, they can mildew.
7. if you read or go online to birds and blooms, people are ALWAYS trading or giving seeds!! it's great!!
