Does anyone know anything about catalogue courier work, does it pay any good?

I mean mail order catalogues where you delivery peoples parcels to their house. I was thinking about doing it for a bit of extra cash for a while - how do you get into it, it is paid per parcel etc. Any info gratefully received. *THANKS*

1. NO I tried it once, received 50p per parcel but the deliveries were so far from one another it cost me more in petrol. Plus if someone isn't in you have to return again.
2. lots of women used to do it years back but i don't think its very popular now and i would think the pay would be minimal
3. cant remember how my mum found out about the position but when she got the application form they wanted to know everything she had ever done from exams at school to every job since and considering she was over 50 and had done quite a lot she just stuck it in the bin.
