Buttercup Squash Stained my hands, is this safe to eat or normal?
Hi All, My Aunt gave me a beautiful buttercup squash from her garden...It has been sitting on my dining room table for a week or two, so I finally decided to half it and steam cook it in the oven. I am making it for my 10 month old (that is why I am so concerned). When I halved it, it smelled really good and like a melon. But I seeded it and got some of the flesh on my hands and it stained my hand! Is that normal? I have never had that happen before. I just want to make sure it is safe for my little one to eat. Thanks.

- It's normal and safe. All natural foods have natural dyes, none of them will harm us. The links I've given will help you with nutritional values of foods and juices. I fed both of my children when babies on natural home cooked pured foods. Today as well healthy grown ups they enjoy many veg's that their friends don't. I believe that's because they were introduced to the real thing early in life. Best of luck.
- normal. my hands always get stained and i get them from the grocery store. just happens. try using nail polish remover or Dawn dish soap to get the stain out.
