I love chiles and am going to start growing. Does anyone have a list of varieties that are beginner friendly?

I enjoy mild up to Thai chile hot in terms of heat. My garden will be out on my balcony here in San Diego, so it's perfect growing weather. Could anyone please suggest a list of chiles that will grow well and are pretty easy? What are the chiles they use in Asian cooking? How long does it take from seed to harvest? Thanks so much!

  1. Well I don't know what varieties they use in Asian cooking but I do know that as long as you feed and water your peppers they will grow quite well in SD. They do require at least 4 hours of good light a day and if you let them stress too much (wilt) that seems to increase the heat of the pepper. Pepper are really easy to grow.
