If you wore mail order catalogue clothes would it help in obtaining a job in said profession?

- I only shop at TARGET....and that is pronounced TAR-SzhAY
- If I sounded, looked and acted like a troll, it would it help me to call myself one.
- Sure, it demonstrates product knowledge and familiarity. Also, if you're selling such clothes, then wearing them and looking good can help you be successful. However, don't wear head-to-toe of that brand. It's looks too "posed". If you have a piece that you love from that line, wear that with some other brands. Uh, but don't fake it. Like don't order a bunch of clothes just because you have an interview.
- I say yes, if you work for the company you buy from. Have a good day.
- If I had nice clothes, I wouldn't buy special for the occasion. On the other hand, I hardly ever buy catalogue clothing because it may not look or fit correctly.
- Not necessary to wear catalogue clothing at a job interview, but you may be expected to wear it once you're employed. Even then it may be your own preference, unless you're a model or on public display (reception, spokesperson). It's also a matter of psychology. If you're going for a high caliber position at a down-market company (managing director!), it would behoove you to wear managing director clothing. On the other hand, if you're being interviewed for a junior copywriter position at an up-market firm, you need not dress like you're going to a rich man's funeral.
