- The temperature of water to water plants should be no warmer than room or body temperature. A bit of warm water to take the chill off of cold water is as warm as you should go.. Of course hot water will kill plants. Just like it burns you it will burn the plant and roots. If your plants are looking fine then don't worry. Just stop with the overly warm water
- Yeah, hot water will kill your plant, maybe you feel the water just is a little warm by your hand, but these plant are not human, they can't bear it. One advice, you water your plants deeply before the ground freeze, the water is enough for them during the whole winter. Don't water them with hot water.
- Temperature of the water have an effect on the growth of the plants. There is not complete consensus on the effect of warm water on plant growth, but there have been studies showing definite differences. Though the most common usage for warm water with plant care is the watering of the roots through the soil, it can also be used in other ways to tend the plant. Warm water can be used to sustain the health of house plant leaves.
- You should water your house plants with water that's at room temperature so when you have poured it from the tap you need to let it stand for an hour. Boiling water will kill your plants. http://www.gardensandlandscapes.co.uk
- Plants don't like cold water. They don't like it hot either. They like it just right, warm. Just make sure the water is just warm to the touch, not hot and they will live for years if you take care of them.
- Well being a two day old question I suppose I suppose any damage has already been done and should be quite apparent if any at all. Plants in black pots in the sunlight reach over 100 degrees f. without ill effect. Heat can damage the roots so it's not a good idea to use hot water. But as long as you could put your hand in it then it's okay. If it burns you it will burn them also. but 110 120 degrees is about the upper limit for comfort for most living things. If it ever happens again or you put anything in the growing medium that you are not sure about or are thinking twice about then simply flush with plenty of fresh water ( warm to cool not hot :)
