Any tips for growing herbs in a garden?

Well, I'm new to gardening, but I've read a lot of books about it and i think I know the basics.. I love cooking and feel it would be awesome to grow my own fresh herbs to use in some of my dishes. A few herbs I plan on growing are mint, rosemary, catnip, and sage. I've purchased the seeds, but I'm not so sure as to how to plant them. I've also purchased a few large bins filled with soil and compost. Could someone tell me if it's necessary to germinate my seeds, and if it is how to go through with it? Also, how should I harvest them, and dry them? Thank you so much :)

  3. Be cautious of herbs like mint. It can be very invasive and take over the yard. It should only be grown in a container.

  6. Best tip i can probably give you is not to grow any illegal herbs and plants of any sort. But if your gonna grow them you might as well grow them the right way. gremlin secrets 1, 2 and 3. Never put water on them. keep it away from sunlight. and the last rule you should remember about growing of these little guys is that you neva eva...eva evaeva eva! feed it after midnight. goodbye haha gud luck
