Flower garden ideas for my front yard area?

I know nothing about gardening so info please. Next spring I want to plant some flowers in the front yard. I have 3 areas in which to plant. There is a small planting area on the side of the house next to the car port. There is one of those big square wood areas out front that you can plant in. Then theres is a rectangle area in front of the porch where I wanted to put a bunch of flowers and those cute garden pebbles.

3. Plant choice will depend on the amount of sun the areas receive...some flowers prefer full sun, some must have shade.
