Can you name the rock garden plants in this picture?

Hello, we are planning on creating a rock garden in front of the new house we just purchased. I came with the idea of making something similar to this picture. Can you please name the plants that are in the picture and also if they are perennials? (I would prefer to have perennials). Can you also tell me if these plants are suitable for a south-facing yard in north Texas (Dallas area)? Thanks! http://media.onsugar.com/files/2010/12/49/1/1243/12431570/10/how-to-build-rock-garden-1.jpg

  1. Picture is not close enough to identify the flowers.
  2. Can't tell what those flowers are; the picture's too small. However, here's a site that tells you which perennials should be used in Texas: http://bexar-tx.tamu.edu/HomeHort/F4Best/nTxLSPerennials.htm You can even click on the flower names to see what the plants look like!
  3. Instead of recreating something from a far different environment, you should concentrate on plants best suited to your location. North Texas has some wonderful prarie flowers that would be fine. Yes, you could also use some of those pictured in your photo: creeping phlox, basket of gold, maybe blue flax, some small bulbs like muscari. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bronpraslicka/sets/72157608030269656/
