Are there any Plants / Flowers that are toxic to my cat?

My cat likes to go out into my garden and chew on the leaves to some of my potted plants. I am afraid it will make her sick. Do you know what kind (if any) of garden plants are toxic??

  1. African Violets and Poinsettia are toxic and can kill cat's.If it wants to chew on plants get it a catnip plant to chew.
  2. There are thousands of toxic plants that your cat can get into. Click on this link for a complete list. http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants.html
  3. Oh yeah...TONS. Please be careful. Here's a good list from The Cat Fanciers Association: http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants.html
  4. POINSETTIA IS REALLY TOXIC!!!! also lillies are toxic to cats! keep them away from those 2 especially there are many others too.
  5. If you go to Purina and go to where it says cat and then it will say safety and click on that and then you will see a list of poisonous plants. I hope this will help.
  6. The first 2 people gave you a very helpful website. Check it out. You can go to any pet store and buy cat grass and just leave that out for your cats to nibble on. My 3 cats love it! You can also grow it too, also found at pet stores. Cats need to chew on green stuff to help aid in their digestion. Cats usually don't like the smell of bananas and citrus. Try mixing a soluton of water and citrus/banana extract. Then spray onto your plants, this shouldn't hurt them! Good luck!
  7. There are so many plants and flowers toxic to cats that I avoid them all. Keep kitty away from the garden. Get her some catnip.
