What are the steps in planting my own flower garden? :)?

I've been wanting to do this for a while now but i'm just not sure how to start, I really want to have my own flower garden so that i can give flowers to my loved ones just because! What are the steps? Thank you.

1. First you have to prepare the flower bed by digging and getting any weeds out. Then you have to enrich the soil with compost or organic matter. Once you have the soil prepared you plant the plants
2. Added to the above, find pants suitable. Search for shade loving plants if the area doesn't get sun, or search for sun loving ones if it gets sun for most of the day. Most seeds/bulbs/plants will have instructions on where to plant and how far apart.
