Question on Carnivorous Plants?

I recently bought some carnivorous plants online but when they arrived through the mail they came bare-rooted. Before buying them I had read countless times on the company's website that they would you give you a description next to the plant if they would be shipped bare-rooted and since the ones I ordered didn't have one I assumed they would come potted but unfortunately only one did. Because I don't have a car, hardly any public transport where I live, and all the gardening centers are far away I haven't been able to get them there potting soil yet and I'm worried I might have to actually order some online. Right now my plants seem rather uncomfortable but very alive and I have watered them ,with distilled water of course, but how long can they last with only a small amount of soil and space before dying?
