Need Help planting a flower garden?

I live in zone 7a-7b for gardening. I want to plant some annuals and periennials in my garden but don't know where to get started..I want it to be colorful all year long.. Can someone help me with plants that would do well and add depth.. Its in New Mexico if that helps..

1. The best advice I can give you is to go to a local flower nursery and see what flowers are available for you growing conditions. Ask the people that work there which species of flower is best for your zone. Then you just pick the ones you like the best, and remember to follow the instructions on the plastic tabs that come with your plants. I live in a different zone, so what is best for me, is not for your zone. Happy Planting
