1. Japenese Maple Tree, and the japanese love ponds with koi and goldfish in them it will look really traditional.
2. Goldenstar (Chrysogonum Virginianum) Lamb's Ears (Stachys Byzantina) Rockcress (Aubrieta Deltoidea)
3. Procumbens juniper, dwarf cryptomerias, weeping cherry, and pachysandra are all plants I have seen in japanese gardens.
