what are good plants for a japanese traditional rock garden?

Public Comments

  1. Japenese Maple Tree, and the japanese love ponds with koi and goldfish in them it will look really traditional.
  2. Goldenstar (Chrysogonum Virginianum) Lamb's Ears (Stachys Byzantina) Rockcress (Aubrieta Deltoidea)
  3. Procumbens juniper, dwarf cryptomerias, weeping cherry, and pachysandra are all plants I have seen in japanese gardens.
  4. For a traditional Japanese Rock Garden, you may wish to see some printed reference material. Your local library may get you some books of the subject, if you request them. It is fascinating, but if you are going to take is seriously, try some pertinent data, because it can become very involved. Good luck with your venture...
