A red plant/flower in my garden looks like a rose bush but has no prickles?

Well I have a plant and i have always assumed it was roses but i looked at it today and it has no prickles? I would like to know what it is!

see if its one of the list of thorn less roses
It could be a thornless rose but we are just guessing. If you can post a picture of it then we could give you a more definite answer.
Sounds like a camellia, trim it back a bit after flowering to retain shape
