What is the most effective light blonde hair dye and is redying okay?

Okay I'm gonna do like a summary of a couple questions I asked a bit ago... since more info came up as I was asking. I DO award best answers and DO NOT leave it up to voting. Sooo... give me the best and most USEFUL answer and you will get the 10 points. First things first: DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT tell me to go the salon. I CANNOT afford to go, and unless you are planning to send me $200... SAVE IT. For those of you who cannot fathom someone being unable to spend $200 on hair, may life deal you a dose of reality sooner rather than later. Okay, with that out of the way... I used a blonde dye on my hair. (I am naturally blonde, but it's just a darker blonde so I was lightening it.) Anyway, it looks okay. But it just looks... "okay." It's not really what I want. If I use the same color on my hair again... will it "take" to my hair lighter this time since it's also starting out lighter? My hair definitely isn't as light as the picture on the box, which doesn't surprise me at all. I thought maybe it's cause I have to start out with it lighter. Oh, and I know not to dye hair again right after dying it the first time. So you can leave that part out. I Just want to know if the dye will take to my hair in a lighter color if the hair I'm starting with is lighter. I use Corn Silk in ultra light sun blonde. Works better than any I have tried. It is also one of the cheapest ones out there. I am a dark strawberry blonde and this take me to a very light blonde with highlights.
