Where can I get free compost near Sutton Surrey?

Doing up my garden, but compost is quite expensive, does anyone know where I can get free compost near Sutton? Also free seeds or plants. Thanks guys any help is appreciated!

1. You could try contacting your local council re the compost as ours in Devon regularly gives away compost that is made from shredded garden waste taken to the recycling centre.They print dates of when it is available & where & you have to go armed with bags & a shovel but it is worth the hassle of having to collect it.I have been known to cadge free plants when I spot council flower beds being altered or park ones.Smile sweetly & it may work. Compost is much cheaper to buy at diy outlets than garden centres by the way.B & Q have a great one of their own,3 bags of 60 litres each sell for only £10 for the 3 & it has all the nutrients needed to plant anything from seeds to established plants in.Thoroughly recommend that one as have used for several years when I have to pay for it & have actually been to buy some today.Good sized bags too as they really do vary,always check how much you are getting for your money
