Help me solve this formula problem please?

I need help solving this question so badly! Here it is: An architect designs a rectangular flower garden where the width is exactly two-thirds of the length. If 260 feet of antique picket fencing are to be used, find the dimensions of the garden.

  1. Let the length of the flower garden be x feet then its width will be ⅔x feet The perimeter of the rectangular flower garden will be 2(length + width) Hence 2(x + ⅔x) = 260 (x + ⅔x) = 130 Multiply throughout by 3 to remove the fraction 3x + 2x = 390 5x = 390 x = 78 The garden has length = 78 feet and width = 52 feet
