How well do the pre seeded flower rolls work?

I have a black thumb in gardening. I can't even keep my mini indoor herb garden alive. I know, Ha Ha. Anyways, I was wondering about these pre seeded flower rolls I've seen in catalogs and on TV. Has anyone tried these? and what kind of results should I expect? Obviously, I won't get to excited given my "black thumb" past. :)

1. If you are that bad at growing things, plant plastic
2. Often the seeds in those things are not right for your climate, regardless of where you live. If you want a garden, go to your local nursery and ask for help. They will be glad to assist you in choosing plants and caring for them.
3. I have bought two different ones and had no luck with them.
