  1. All my websites are affiliate or advertisement based. However, I have heard great reports about Yahoo Shopping Cart.
  2. Depending on the items you are selling, I would make different recommendations as to which is best. For example, if you are solely selling media such such: Books, DVDs, Video Games, and Game Consoles, I highly recommend Half.com. There are no upfront fees, and inventory is easy to manage.* If you are selling items solely on a local basis I would recommend Craiglist. No shipping is involved and there are no fees period.** If you are selling a vast array of different products I would use eBay and/or Amazon *** + **** If you wish to be at the top of Google search engines, and are only planning on selling in one category that is not media related go with Google Base***** If you simply wish to sell the items regardless of what they are on your website. Create a Paypal account, and visit merchant services. There you can create standard paypal buttons, or upload your own design all in html. Simply copy the code and paste it into your site. ****** If you need any more help visit the Marketing Rule Breaker *******
  3. I've used VCart (Virtual Cart) for several ecommerce sites I have done. It's easy and customizable so it matches the look & feel of your site.
  4. Volusion has some good offerings.
