Free Garden Catalogs

Web Hosting Question - How much space do you think I would need for this Web site?

Online T-Shirt Business. Four pages with very little info. Typical pages - Home, About, Shop, Contact. The shop page will link to the different T-Shirts available. There are 50 designs total but the company will need to grow to atleast 200 and maybe even accessories. So the Web site would need enough space for 300 catalog items... I doubt I have enough info here... but any answers would be greatly appeciated. (serious answers that is) Thanks! ^_^

  1. Oh, well here's the host I recommend. http://www.globat.com/globat-aff.htm It's extremely cheap, free domain and just the right amount of space.
  2. Well, it is really vague. Hmmm..... try 30GB? It really depends. I can't give you a definite answer.... sorry....
  3. 300 catalogue items, considering they're jpg thumbnails wouldn't take up any room at all. Even an extragavant page wouldn't run over 5MB or so. Don't you have a host you can upload some thumbs to and count them. Get a Yahoo free page and check them out there.
  4. tripod off great services plus if you don't want to buy the domain then you can just have the sub domain of .tripod ---- furthermore, tripod offer reasonable amount of space for a statr up website, not only that but it has a website builder as well!

  6. If you aren't tracking sales in a database on your server, you're not going to need more than 100 MB of hard disk space. If you are tracking sales, either scale up from this or be prepared to monitor your disk space and scale up when necessary. Since this is a starter site, I would go with a conservative amount of bandwidth and increase it as you see fit. (1 GB should be more than enough in the beginning.) It makes more sense to find a hosting service that has multiple plans that you can grow into instead of paying for what you anticipate to be the max specs you'll ever need.
  7. What I tell my customers is to start out small. In the very beginning you rarely need huge amounts of space. You can start with the lowest plan, and upgrade as you need it. The thing you should look for in a hosting plan are the features. You want to make sure that even though you have a small plan, you want all of the features available to you, not limited. For instance, compare the plans at hostgator.com: http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml You get everything you need, no matter what plan you go for. That's what counts. Additionally, if you need to upgrade they don't nickel and dime you, they prorate - if you upgrade from a five dollar plan to a ten dollar plan, you're charged 5 bucks. Not bad.
  8. Just get HostGator (low monthly cost and unlimited sites) http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=funnyjawbone . It will handle more then you'll need for a while.
  9. Just get a 1 TB hard drive and get your own server. It could be expensive but its what I would do if I had the money.
  10. Not a lot needed. Maximum 1 GB. When I started building websites, I was confused which web hosting to go for. Now I am clear about which web hosting provider is good and reliable. 13. You need a web hosting service which supports online payments like, Master Card, Visa & Pay Pal. It is very important that your service to be uptime. It means that you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and your visitors can view your website whenever they input your website address. If your hosting service is not uptime it is a real hell! As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements.
