I live in RI when is a good time to start planting my garden?

I bought some seeds but i'm unsure of what months I need to plant them. I bought some vegetables and some flowers. thanks!

  1. Call your local Department of Agriculture. Usually the number is in the government part of the phone book. They should be able to give you dates of your average last frost, which is how seed planting times are calculated. The seed packages will usually say "Plant after last average frost date" or "Plant several weeks before last frost date," or something similar. Once you know when that is, you're good to go. "Plant as soon as soil can be worked" is usually about when the forsythia bushes bloom.
