I want to start my sunflowers early before I plant them outside. When should I plant the seed(s)?
I live in southern Ontario, just north of Toronto, and I want to plant my sunflowers early but I don't know how early to start. I will eventually transplant them outside in the main garden, but if I plant the seeds inside in a pot too early, I think that stunts the growth or something. Can anyone give me any insight?

- late march or early april.
- YOU SHOULD START NOW IT THE TIME BUT BUY IN HOME DEPOT SOME LITTLE QUARTERS THEY A RE MADE OF DIRT AND YOU SOAK THEM IN WATER AND IT GROWS AND THEN PUT THE SEEDS INSIDE AND KEEP THEM SOAK IN A PLASTIC SO THEY WONT DRIED AND WHEN THEY ARE READY TAKE THEM OUT BUT START NOW OR BUT DIRT AND PUT SOME INT HE EGGS CARTIGEAS AND PLATNT INSIDE
- I don't think you should start them early. Given plenty of sun, sunflowers grow very rapidly anyway. Also, they do not transplant well. Happy Growing!!
- I would plant the seeds outside after the danger of frost is over. I never start sunflowers indoors because once they bloom they are done and then they are just plain old ugly after that.
