Dictionary/Book of pharmacologically active plants?

I'm looking into growing a garden this summer composed almost entirely of plants that benefit human beings. Is there an online dictionary or a book I could buy with information about the different types of pharmacologically active plants?

  1. Two websites I've used: http://www.ars-grin.gov/duke/ http://herb.umd.umich.edu/ although both assume you know a little about what plants are used medically. Without knowing where you're located, you could try googling "(name of your state/province) + medicinal plants" to get a list of what grows locally. That way it would have a better chance of surviving in your garden than plants chosen at random which may not be suitable for your climate or soil type. Then you can use their names in the above websites to find out more about them.
