How do I know if the plants in my garden are weeds?

Is there an online guide that could help me? I bought the house recently with a large yard and am not sure if some of the plants are weeds.

1. AS PER THUMB RULE ANY PLANT YOU DONT NEED AND IT BECOMES HARD TO ERADICATE BECOMES A WEED.Your personal taste is what plays the part here no t the plant itself.
2. Rule of thumbs. Leave it for now and you'll see what's growing. Wait til they'll flower and you'll find out soon which is which. And again, usually plants clustered together especially perennials. Then and there you can decide. It's what I did when I bought my place. Good luck!
