When is the best time to plant flower seeds in the garden before winter? Can you plant seeds in the Fall?

- I don't know of any seeds that you plant in the fall because the plants wouldn't grow enough to withstand the winter. What you can plant though is bulbs. There is a huge selection that you can pick from... check out home depot, lowes, or best yet, a local nursery.
- Some seeds require the cold weather to sprout next year - that is called stratification. It is best to plant those seeds after the frosts come, but while the ground can still be worked, ie you can still hoe a bit to sprinkle them in and "stratify" them.
