garden pond pros and cons?
Garden pond. Am considering creating a small garden pond with probably a small fountain. Main objective is to have some water (as a different texture from earth / wooden terrace, soothing sound), have some different plants, and to make garden more artistic / professional. Not too keen on having fish. Can those already having gardens enlighten me of their experiences : positive or negative in having a garden pond ? Thanks

- I can tell you from experience that it is important to have the pond in a shady area. Otherwise you will have to deal with algea and other unpleasant looking and smelling growth. Ponds are pretty, but they do require maintanence. especially if you want it the water to be clear. Once you find the right balance of shade and plant life, it will be virtually maintenance free. we planted water lilys and the pads and flowers are quite lovely.
