What are fruit bearing, or edible plants, that could be used in making a water smart garden.?
We are in a valley in Lafayette, and want to convert part of our lawn into a garden that will use little or no water. In the Lamorinda area, contra costa county, CA.

- Best bet is to go to a local nursery(not just the garden section at Wal-mart),see what they have and what they recommend. Fruiting trees or shrubs are probably your best bet because most vegetables are going to require extra water but so much depends on local conditions even down to your own soil.
