**10 POINTS** What kind of flowers are ...?

I'm wanting to start a little garden to keep me occupied and to help ease my anxiety and stress; taking care of Daylillies really calmed me. I have a layout planned for the yard but do not wish to forget it when the flowers die, what are some annual flowers that I could plant? They also need to be able to grow in the shade, the front yard has jack for sunlight.

  1. Plants of any kind are healers. They help us get in touch with the Earth and its infinite creations. Too often we are separated from Her, and in the process become lost in the universe. But when we grow plants be they large or small, flowering or foliage, we are reminded of our primal origins and those fundamental relationships with things of nature. The clan of begonias have fallen out of favor since they were hot stuff in the 1950s. The small bedding hybrids of Begonia semperflorens, also known as wax begonias, can be found in various foliage colors and bright small flowers. These are marvelously forgiving and offer a lot of value for next to no care. Combine begonias with intensely purple Persian shield, a relative newcomer to American gardens that is proving tough and long lived. The beauty of purple leaf plants such as this iridescent beauty is that they offer color when the bloom cycle of annuals is in a temporary lull. Another easy grower are impatiens, which you can buy in flats to create a lovely mass of color. Spot in a few ferns among them to give you a lush, beautiful carpet. Since you have a tree canopy above, why not accent the planting with hanging baskets of fuchsia?
  2. begonias violets violas johnny jump ups pansies caladium geraniums lobelias coleus impatiens torenias heliotrope
  3. there are leafy plants called caladiums that grow great in the shade. they come in different colors and look very similar to elephant ears in the leaf shapes, but don't get near as big. impatients do well begonias are good but get the lighter leaf not the darker... the darker are known as new guinea begonias. hygerangias also tend to do better in the shade, also you can mess with them by putting lime (blue) or acid (pink) to make them change between the two colors.
