Recently started seeds for garden, after germination and sprouting, a light blue green fungus?
I started the seeds for my garden in Ferry Morse Organic Seed Starter Mix. After they have sprouted, gotten about 1 or 2 inches tall, there is a light blue green fungus that appears on the roots. What is this and how do I prevent this from happening?

- It's a fungus, usually caused by overwatering. Cut back, unless it's destroyed the stem. In that case, start over.
- Most likely botrytis mold, which is caused by cool, humid, stagnant air. Prevention is easier than cure...brighter light, good air circulation, and let the soil dry a bit between waterings. If you start over, use new soil mix and trays if you can, to prevent contaminating the new crop. Good luck!
