I grew potatoes in my garden and one of the plants fruited? can i plant the seeds from that fruit?
i read they were toxic and everything but we usually grow potatoes by cutting up seed potatoes that have eyes on them. Can i also grow potatoes from the fruits?

- With some varieties you can grow a crop from the seeds. From others the seeds will not produce, if they even sprout. It depends on the variety you have. Try them, you may have a variety that does produce from seeds. If not, you have only wasted a little time and space to satisfy your curiosity. If you are concerned about the wasted space you can start them in a pot and transplant them if they sprout. Good luck and enjoy!
- Well, yes you could. But it's so much easier to grow more potatoes by saving and planting some of the potatoes your plants produce.
- Give it a try. That's where new potato varieties come from. Odds are that the seeds will be sterile, or that they will be inferior to the parent plant. But they could be new and wonderful.
