Where do you get your tires mounted and balanced after purchasing them online?
I was interested in purchasing tires from such stores like www.tirerack.com, but after I realized that mounting and balancing each tire costs about $20, and after shipping costs, basically the savings are wiped out (or I may save $10-$15 overall, and have to deal with lugging the tires from my house to the shop). Besides, I wouldn't get free tire rotations either. What have you done? I saw that walmart would mount tires pretty cheap, at only $3.50 per tire--check out http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=495845. Have you had experience with them?

- any automotive mechanic or dealer.
- Yeah wal mart blows.
- I've always used my own mechanic. I have also found that you get much better maintenance service if you purchase from the place you have them put on.
- Take them anywhere, to a gas station. They can do it for you. Walmart is really cheap, but I would hate to wait, I see cars lined up just to get that cheap price. I usually go to the America tire store.
- Discount Tire.
- buying tires from discount tire or tire rack is a mixed bag...i like tirerack big savings for me and i know a guy to install/balance...ill bet your 3.50 price does NOT include balance,,,,,,i know tire rack has list of approved installers...look on their site.
