Mom needs stay-at-home job that pays money and isn't done by filling out surveys or giving opinion, ect.?
I'm a stay at home mom who'd like a legitimate stay at home job but doesn't involve filling out surveys, participating in discussions, giving my opinion, trying free trials, or trying free products. Mystery shopping is okay, as long as I don't have to buy anything and I don't wind up getting a bunch of catalogs in the mail. Also, the job can't be one where I pay the person money to "get started" or for a membership fee. I know medical transcription pays well, but don't you have to go to school for that? Please don't give answers with links to websites asking me to fill out surveys or try free offers, as these are what I'm trying to avoid. Thanks!

- Do you know a second-language? My mom is a stay-at home who translates business laters from French to English and vice-verca. If not, then do you have any hobbies that you like? Sewing, knitting, craft, etc.? If so, you could open a little business online to sell some of that stuff. It worked for one of my friend's mom who sold little hand-made sweaters for dogs that she knitted.

- You can record some vedios which are about the English teaching and post them online. Then contact some potential customers especially abroad. This probably helps you fill your wholeday and make cash.
- Well you can make a website with something interesting on it. Then go to www.google.com/adsense and sign up. Put the html on your webpage and make money every time someone clicks on an ad. This takes a lot of work and time though. I've actually been going to http://www.free-ebooks.net/ and downloading free e-books with instructions on making money. I've gotten some useful tips with them.

- I'm a work at home mom...I have a home based business as a designer with Latasia jewelry and love it! The company has been in business for over 15 years and is a member of the DSA. The job is fun, easy and the money is great. I'm not sure what kind of interests you have but it may be an option for you to consider. I'd be happy to send you some info if you'd like and can help you get started for free. I don't want to to break any of the yahoo rules, so if you're intereseted in hearing more, my contact info is on my profile. Good luck! Kim :)
- Mom, you have to ask yourself, what is it that I REALLY want. Understand, you're never going to get something for nothing. Just because other things you tried didn't work out for you doesn't mean everything else you try won't work. If I believed that, I would have given up along time ago. All I can tell you is what's working for me. I pray to God that he moves in your favor to believe me. Here it goes, I did have to pay for a membership. It cost me $39. I had to get two people who I loved and trusted to work with me. Later, the company sent me a debt card because the two people I signed up did the same thing. Needless to say, the card continues to accumulate cash weekly. It may not be much now, but it continues to grow every week. The company is three years old, they have one product, it's healthy, good, and Oprah of all people rated it the number one product for health on her show. Dr. Nicholas Perricone wrote about it five years before it even hit the market. If this doesn't tell you I have my hands on something big, I don't know what will. Your "WHY" has to be so big that you'll let nothing stand in your way. You asked and I'm telling you, don't wait. Everything happen for a reason. Don't look back years from now saying I should have signed up. A GREAT opportunity is right in your face. How do I know it good? Because I was in your shoes. I stepped out on faith. God Bless W. Miles

- Regarding medical transcription... Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health related fields. You would need to get the terminology down, and then get started. Many companies want experience so there's a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do. There's some excellent information for anyone considering a career in this field in the website listed below.
- You don't mention whether you have any skills you can apply to home based work so I can't be too specific. I'd suggest you take a look at one of the work at home advice site where you can get an idea of the range of work available. One you may find particularly helpful is http://www.homeworking-directory.com which covers freelance work and business opportunities and has a large section on mystery shopping work and also information on scams you need to avoid. As regards medical transcription work, whilst well paid, this will require you studying hard full time for a year, ideally with on-the-job training, if only to get a good grasp of the terminology required and an understand of medical conditions and drugs used (many sound nearly identical so you need to know which one applies to each illness). You can't pick this up from a couple of ebooks or even a distance learning course. Another thing you need to consider with transcription work is that much of this work is now outsourced to Asia, where labor costs are much lower, so there is less work around than previously.
- For medical transcription - you have to go to school, but general transcription you don't, but you might need to pass typing tests.. there are a couple of companies doesn't require experience for general transcription.. Regarding surveys, I understand you won't make enough to pay bills, but it's a good little extra cash, you just have to make sure sign up with legit ones and not the one to try offers.
- Offering babysitting (or nannying) can be a great way to make money. Babysitting is a term most people understand. However becoming a nanny differs from Babysitting in several ways: Nannies are more typically full time (although they can work part time, Nannies do some light housework occasionally, Nannies often participate in helping to RAISE the child, not just babysit the child, and nannies usually DRIVE to the persons home and watch the child in their own home, Nannies also have more experience and are paid higher wages). I think you can list yourself as a nanny at some websites online but the best place to check for nanny positions are in the paper or on Craigslist. Another job you can do from home would be to sell a craft. I have a website online where I show people how to make rag rugs out of fabric. These are just some inexpensive instructional manuals and DVD's. You can make them for your personal use or you can turn around and make a large profit on them at craft fairs or on consignment at a local small retailer. If you like crocheting, this is something I would highly recommend. Otherwise any craft can be offered on consignment. You could teach classes in the summer at your local community college (although this isn't always ongoing). If you know a special skill or trade, you could teach an adult continuing ed class. I do not believe you need a degree to teach a continuing ed class although I'm not sure. For that matter, you could teach people how to crochet rag rugs! :) The most important thing is to find a niche, a need in your community and fill that need. If there is a legitimate need for it (a service or product a lot of people want), you will be able to fulfill that need and make a profit. Nanny jobs, for instance, are more likely to be found in affluent neighborhoods and college towns...a more rural city many not offer many. Craft fairs may be more common in smaller towns...etc etc.
- I am a stay at home Mother of 2 boys ages two and four. I stopped working full time when my first was born. About 6 months ago I started my own business from home as an independent distributor for an anti-cancer and anti-aging food product. It has been getting a lot of press recently (Oprah did a whole show on it). I do it part time completely around my kids schedules. My approach has been to host "tasting" parties at my home several times a month. This has been a great way to introduce new people to either use the product or become a distributor like myself. I really researched the company and it is first class all the way. Good luck to you!
