Poll about veggies. It will only take a second!?
Our seed catalog came today Okay, I see a lot of things in there kind of exotic, like black tomatoes and such..So I was wondering, would you be more willing to buy a more exotic version of a food like a purple tomato or would you be more willing for a classic red? all will be organic

- classic version
- I would try a purple tomato. Because you never know what kind of flavors it would have or how it could add to your cooking!
- I've never had a purple tomato. I think it'd be fun to try and grow new vegetables I haven't tried before.
- I'd definitely try the exotic one. I tend to be drawn to interesting looking vegetables, and a purple tomato would definitely catch my eye. Plus, imagine how cool it would look to have purple spaghetti sauce.
- Classic, always classic.
- why dont you buy two tomatoes and compare taste, growth, and quantitiy?
- I prefer the original.
- I always choose the "exotic" versions because they all taste a little different. I've had black tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, orange tomatoes, partially green tomatoes, ugly tomatoes, pretty tomatoes, roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, and regular ol' tomatoes...and each one tastes different. For a real treat, go for those dark brown/black tomatoes...they are the sweetest!!
- I love a really good red tomato that is naturally ripened and so perfect it stings your nose when you smell it.
- you can get red classics anywhere, be daring a try a black or purple!
- Exotic normally translates to more expensive. I'd try the exotic but unless there is some dramatic improvement, I'd go back to the staple.
- I have raised red, pink, black, green and striped heirloom tomatoes. The red ones are good enough for me. For eating in the garden I like sweet millions, better than eating candy. Green Zebras have an interesting whang to them.
- A purple tomato doesn't sound very appealing to me. I once had an orange tomato - and that was quite vulgar, although it tasted the same. I like to stick to the classic reds thanks.
- I bought a packet of purple carrot seeds this year, because I found the idea rather appealing. Carrots actually used to be purple, before they were developed to the orange colour that everyone is so used to now. There are a lot of vegetables that used to look quite different to what we get nowadays. You can occasionally find the seeds for what are often called "heritage" or "heirloom" varieties. In terms of buying varieties, I would probably look at both and, after looking at how much money I have to spend, perhaps buy some of the exotic ones, or the classic ones if I don't have enough money for the exotic.
- the original the new varieties are probably genetically engineered and not vegan
- sure I would buy some seeds of the exotic foods just to try them out
- classic red
- That sounds awesome! You could have like... Rainbow Dinners! Haha. But seriously, I think it sounds cool as long as they taste good.
- That be cool to mix them together and eat them all
- It would choose neither. Instead of that, I would dine on a nice slice of meat. Steak perhaps.
- classic red.. the blacks dont have thant much flavor
- What the heck, I'd try a purple one. =)
- classic. i'd try the exotic one though..
