What is the best corn seed for home garden?

I get all these catalogs (Jungs, Gurneys, etc.) that have the sugar enhanced varieties and I would like to know what you think is the best corn to plant. With a crop of corn, you only have one shot so I want to make sure it is really sweet. What seed do you reccomend?

1. I really wish I could give you an answer but I decided to grow corn once, only once. Even though I mulch to hold in moisture the amount of water it takes to grow good corn wasn't worth the cost on my water bill. Plus the bugs and worms were difficult to control. After that year I decided to just buy corn from a local farmer. I can buy a whole gunny sack full for $15. I hope you find growing corn more rewarding that I did.
2. I reccomend you go to the feed store and ask for sweet corn seed, that's where I buy mine. You can sprinkle seven dust on the stalk and it will keep the bugs out of the corn. You can get it at the feed store too.
