Looking for a new seed company?
I would like to get away from Burpee and chain store seeds. Can anyone suggest a good seed catalog or website?

- well if you are inclined to swap seeds or send sase's to someone to get seeds you can try some of the free swap sites listed in the yahoo groups. i joined several and have free seeds on the way to me now. if you are looking for tomato seeds you can try wintersown.org they send you 6 free or if you donate $5 they send you 10 packets of seeds. most are the htf varieties of tomato seeds too. also see if you have a local branch of freecycle for your area. it's a yahoo group. you can post that you are looking for xyz seeds and someone might just have them to give you.
- Yes. Select Seeds, Territorial Seeds, Renee's Seeds, and the Seed Saver's Exchange for heirlooms are all great ones. Just type these names into Google, they wil come up for you.
- I went to Google and typed in free seed catalogs and at the bottom of the page, about 3 websites up and I clicked. It was a site that had at least 10 seed companies on it and i applied for them all. Some of the seed companies wanted e-mail confirmation so don't forget to check your mail. And good luck.
- I like... Renee's Garden https://www.reneesgarden.com/ Botanical Interests http://www.botanicalinterests.com/store/shop.php Chiltern Seeds http://www.chilternseeds.co.uk/chilternseeds/211/index/ Thompson & Morgan http://www.thompson-morgan.com/
- Oh yes I know what you mean. Try going to Daves garden watchdog. It list the top 50 web sites that sell seeds and what not. It also lets the buyers from certain sites give a review. Here is the site. http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/ I have bought from two people on the top 50 list and have nothing but good things to say about them.
- Jung Seymoure Seeds Top Tropicals Gurney's Seeds Glasshouseworks Plant Delights R H Shumway Park Seeds Wayside Gardens Richters Are a few I've ordered from and have been pleased with. Would have posted links, but lovely "error 999" has been giving me fits. I avoid Michigan Bulb like the plague - their "guarantee" is bogus, did not replace items that died in transit.
