Free Garden Catalogs

2 questions. 1=seed catalogs 2=sharpening shovels?

1= What companies send out free seed catalogs? The big thing to stress is FREE. #2= What tool do I need to sharpen my spade and shovel with. I was told that a flat rock would do but I dont know so I wanted to ask. I mean Im not going to pay $10 for a tool that does it cuz I can buy a brand new shovel for that but I was just looking for something really cheep. Thank you.

1. shovel answer first: any rock is as good as a file because it soes the same job as long as you do not need a perfectly smooth edge like a food cutting knife. In fact I have used a cement post at work to sharpen a knife that is used just to cut plastic strap Most companies send out free seed catalogs. Look on line under seed catalogs and see what comes up and check to see which ones are free
2. Most companies send out free catalogs. Go to the websites and request one. I sharpen my shovels with a big mill bastard file. It will cost you a few bucks but I spend more than 10 bucks on my shovels.

4. Just about all of the seed companies will mail free seed catalogs and most of them have online catalogs which, of course, are free. Spend a couple of buck on a flat file. If you have let your shovels get very dull you will be there for a long, long time trying to sharpen them up with a rock.
