Is rainwater running over asphalt roof shingles toxic if you use them to water garden plants.?
Im saving rainwater in a bucket to water my vegetable garden with. A co-worker said this would harm my plants. I've never heard of this. Any thoughts? Thanks

- Never heard of it either.
- It won't hurt them , as a matter out west they have collection systems for that very purpose. However , you want to make sure the buckets of water don't turn into mosquito breeding places.
- My friend planted a rose bush in a hole that had motor oil in it. That bush grew bigger than any of her other bushes.
- Should be fine! I use the water collected from the downspouts for my garden and there definitely is no ill effect on the plants!
