how do you stop a dog from digging in your yard/garden/plants?
Whenever I let my dog out in my back yard to run around, I have to constantly be there to watch her. I can't leave her alone not even for 10 mins. She will start digging in my plants, garden. I have my garden fenced but she jumps right over it. What can I do without being too mean?

- put her on a lead that wont reach the garden area and there is spray you can buy.in any petsupermarket
- Try having your hubby pee around the garden.. it works on some dogs... if they see your hubby as the alpha it should do the job.
- Dogs are terrified of newspapers and toy guns
- best thing you can do is bring her a lot of male dogs cause bitch like to have sex and that's why she is angry she need a really hard orgasm hope that help
- Cayenne pepper sprinkled around the fence may help, but you have a jumper...You may have to tie her up until your garden is done. If you are using manure they LOVE that....I guess it smell great that's why they roll in it!
- Take her to obedience class at your nearest Junior College. 6 week class. about $60.00 and you will again be happy you have a furry best friend.
- Another choice is a product called liquid fence. This is a spray that does no harm to plants or anything. What it does is repels animals by smell. What you do is spray this in the areas you don't want your dog, wait a week, spray again, then only every two weeks after that. *a note... there are a few varieties of liquid fence. make sure to get the dog formula, also this stuff smells foul. But the smell goes away after about an hour...
- Quick way--when you see her at it squirt her right in the face with a squirt gun or water bottle. They let go of bad habits very quickly, including car chasing, with this one.
- Yeah, you must stop it digging the plat otherwise the whole garden will be destroyed. The best thing is isolate the dog from garden. http://www.abbyirondoors.com
