What are the best rocks to plant in a rock garden?
I asked this in another section and received 6 wonderful answers; however, I know many Senior Citizens that have done wonderful work with rock gardens and would like their opinion as well. It seems where I'm going to set up base camp, a small rock garden is tickling my brain cells. Thank you for your input.

- small rocks they take less water and fertilizer
- Rose rocks from Oklahoma, it is getting harder to find the ones with large petals. We had some around a fish pond along with many other types.
- all you need is one male rock and one female rock, the rest will take care of itself, and grow into a beautiful "rock" garden.
- My garden has some big, white, crystal type rocks and they look beautiful. They create a contrast and although they don't look 'natural', they add a nice touch.
- I like many different colors and shapes. Put together from travels to different places. Can be a fun project collecting all the rocks to plant.
- My rocks are special, I bring them back from vacations - from all over the world. Therefore with different dna they won't make little pebbles... How is it that when you are clearing an area for a garden the native rocks bred and created more rocks than when you started clearing yesterday?
- We have picked up rocks from all over the country and got them in our rock garden, we have iron ore rocks from Mi. they shine so beautiful when the sun shines.
- The type that grow there naturally.
- Garden rocks of course, want me to send you one from Minnesota when you get settled. I have plenty.
