What plants are the best to plant in rock gardens?

1. I think Aloe Vera will be the best variety for planting in rock garden. It has medicinal quality and matches finely with rock garden them. requires less water and not pests and manure. requies little care.
2. Any plant in the succulent family would do well in a rock garden because they suck moisture out of the air instead of the soil. Chinese pagoda, stone faces, donkey'stail and ghostplants would all do well in a rock garden.
3. you can plant cacti which have beautful flowers.. avoid the common cacti... though it is said that cati should never be planted around ur home ( according to vaastu), they are the best plants for a rock garden. Certain varieties of cacti have lovely colourful and vibrant flowers.... try them out... also avoid the ones that have long huge thorns... thorns shud be preferably small...
4. Low creeping things like Moss Rose, phlox, some succulents.
5. Other succulents are sedum and hens and chicks. Creeping thyme is a good one between rocks. There are some larger shrub type plants that will waterfall over rocks if you have a rock wall or even a slope. Dwarf globe blue spruce or some type of creeping blue juniper and of course, creeping phlox is great for rock gardens.
