  1. Try going to www.landscaping.about.com/rockgardens I live in a town called Rocky Point, so ya come to the right place. We have so many large rocks and rock gardens around here. The website shows alot of nice pics for ideas. Hens and chicks are a nice plant/ground covering. Rock Gardens look great with large or small rocks with ground covering and beautiful flowers of all kinds. Good Luck.
  2. It is just how it sounds. It is full of rocks. From all rocks to a collection of some big rocks. It may just have some flowers popping up in between the rocks or just a few big rocks in the flowers. Just drive over & see what he has so you will know what he needs. Good luck.
  3. Your library would be the first place to find help, also, your gardening outlet. I would plant native plants, ground coverings and there are many flowering shrubs available. They need to be watered on a regular basis and mulched well. This garden will attract birds and should look very beautiful once it is established. Good Luck! You may find that you enjoy yourselves so much you may want to learn more, and, who knows you may begin a new career.
  4. It is flower beds covered in rocks. Most people use the white rock. My suggestion is to buy a few beautiful, colorful flowers in pots and set them around. Alot of people have little figurines sitting in these. Buy a couple of new small animal figurines. Old ones tend to get weathered and will break away with time. This way too he has new items to enjoy in the flower bed. I would buy Impatient flowers or even a nice ground cover flower because they will get big and over flow the pots. Most garden center associates can help tell you which will become big plants in a short time.
  5. Your boss said it has a rock garden, so it just sounds like he would like you to tidy it up and replant it. First thing to do is remove all old plants and weeds, then you may want to remove half the soil and replace with new soil, mushroom compost, and water in well. Next day turn it all over a couple of timess and let it settle and come back in two days time and plant a lot of taller succulents at the back if it is up against a wall or in the middle, if it is in the middle of the yard. Surround with lower succulents such as pig face and some colourful seedlinds such as pansies. Have funand you should go back in 3 months time to check on your work. Good luck. Hope you get a nice big bonus.
  6. some people mound dirt, plant plants and set rocks(feild stone) around the plants. some have the enviroment to set plants in small piles of stone. also, don't forget how pretty sea shells are! they should come in during snow though. ussually you use small fescue or suculants as your plants. i live in zone 5 (all my 35 yrs) just found out i can grow certain types of century plants, some prickly pear grow here. check it out and enjoy! this can be a very fun project if you enjoy trying new gardening tecniques!
