rock garden?

How can I make a rock garden in NY? What plants should I buy, that use little water? Is this possible?

  1. Most of the species in the Sedum family are good choices for rock gardening.. lots of different colors, leaf patterns, etc. to choose from.

  3. sure you can, use hens and chicks they will grow along and around your rocks, they are a succulent and not in need of a lot of water. good luck!
  4. well you have to take stock of where you are based..New York? Think of what plants would survive in those weather conditions and then also look at the aspect of the site for planting. Plants which do not need much water are those from dry arid areas,cacti,succulents,some prairie wildflowers, lavenders,prostrate rosemarys,thymes. Saxifrages and cushion plants
